Global Authority | 2011
With Series One: Canada still generating views online, the crew has set their sites on the west coast of the USA and Europe for Series Two and Three.
Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas feature some of the hottest indie coffee scenes on the planet and Common Grounds TV is headed to them all.
Series One showed us what can be found in Canada and Series Two will up the ante as we work our way through the dense coffee community along the west coast.
Our show has featured many of the finest cafes, baristas, roasters and more in the Great White North and will look for similar counterparts south of the border.
From the epicenter of the third wave coffee movement, Seattle, to the frenetic heart of Las Vegas, Series Two looks to raise the bar in every manner possible.
With a full HD film crew and Series One in the can, this looks to add to our expanding network of indie coffee fans across the globe.

Nik Green is an independent filmmaker and journalist who has combined his experience in both fields along with his entrepreneurial past to become an effective Film Producer over the past four years.
Green recently produced segments for New Edge Entertainment on a new show called West Coast Escapes. Prior to that Green was focusing on freelance writing with published submissions to the Vancouver Sun, Toronto Star and Canadian Press while also reporting for the Grand Forks Gazette and The Boundary Sentinel. Green stays sharp with his popular weekly column, The Electric Grapevine which is published by the Boundary Sentinel, Rossland Telegraph and Castlegar Source..
His primary focus is Producing festival driven films with crew members he has maintained contact with from his time at the Vancouver Film School. Between projects, Green teaches high risk youth communication and employability skills through use of video, enabling the participants to gain better self confidence, awareness and image.
While the moving image is a large part of Greens' life, he continues to be an avid still photographer having sold works to various parties and agencies over the past three years. Some of his imagery was used to promote the Kootenay Boundary Area in the 2010 Visitors Choice and Tourism guides while also appearing at the 2010 Olympic Games for the same purpose.
Through the creative collective known as Global Authority, Green joins other talented friends to pursue meaningful and creative work while always working with skilled and motivated team players in a fertile environment.
Global Authority is run by Green and Edan Marshall who pursue other artists to join forces with through their portal at www.globalauthority.ca

I was born and raised in the small town of Fort Frances, Ontario, and never even moved into a different house. In fact excluding helping my older brother and sister out, the concept of moving didnt really hit me until I went to university. Growing up, I did the average kid thing and hung out with friends, did all sorts of outdoor activities, and general young person shenanigans.
I played a variety of sports, but was (and still am) passionate about hockey and played at a high level until I was 16. When I realized making a career out of hockey was not for me, I fell into a bit of a rut for a few years, trying to figure out what I wanted to do. I tried all sorts of things, eventually discovering that I liked working with computers, working on cars or anything mechanic, but they werent anything I wanted make a career out of. Then one day as I was talking to my uncle he told me make a career out of something you like and youll never work another day in your life.
So I started thinking about this while I was watching a movie, the third one of the day and realized I watched an obscene amount of movie and loved it. Thats when I started seriously looking into filmmaking. I graduated from high school and went to York University in Toronto studying English and Film Production for 3 years. After I was done with York, I looked to see what other schools had to offer me for film production and one I had always heard about was VFS, so I enrolled and eventually got accepted and now, here we are.
